Summary of source: Ign is home of the international gaming network. Ign does a various amount of video game reviews, television show reviews, and gameplay videos. In this particular article IGN talks about how they are incorporating Spotify a very popular music app into the Playstation's. This will replace the not so great Playstation music. There recent partnership with Spotify is just another great add on to Sonys amazing year they have had.
"The new music service - dubbed PlayStation Music - will partner with Spotify to bring the service to 41 territories, including North and South America, Europe, Asia and more."

"PlayStation 4 players will also be able to simultaneously use Spotify and play games, enabling you to "soundtrack [your] gaming sessions".

"As you'll be able to link directly to your Spotify account from your device, you'll also be able to subscribe to Spotify Premium via your PSN wallet."

Summary of source: I am so happy with this recent partnership between sony and spotify because the ability to play games and listen to your favorite music is genious. Spotify is a very popular app on iphones and androids today and now that it will be on my favorite gaming console just adds to the great experience that spotify already gives me.

  1. I don't think the partnership with Spotify is a big deal. Consumers purchase consoles to play video games and use streaming services here and there. By no means do I think a partnership with Spotify will help Sony sell more consoles. Streaming music through the console seems like more of a hassle than anything. Picking up a smartphone and connecting it to a speaker is a much better option; the process is much quicker and delivers a better sound experience. Overall, I think Sony should do away with PlayStation Music as the app would do nothing for me but take up space and collect dust.
